Born of necessity, HeyWire was founded by local news entrepreneurs no longer able to cover city council meetings due to staffing shortages. So we found a work around: scrape and database municipal meetings from the internet, and create analytical tools that support investigative research. 

Our goal is to empower governments, civil society, and the news industry with hyperlocal data and game changing analytical tools. Our work serves a deeply held belief: governments that are transparently connected and accountable to their communities better serve their constituents.
